Magazine Sales Fundraiser
Prairie Ridge is excited for our upcoming school-wide fundraiser.  Through this fundraiser, students will not personally collect any money and they will not deliver any magazines.  This is all done through GAO Fundraising.  Funds raised will be used for the purchase of: student activities including Leadership Camp, student play productions, PBIS prizes, and Prairie Ridge Pride.  This fundraiser could not be successful without your support and your assistance.  If you can volunteer with processing orders or in the prize store, please contact the office.

Magazine sales will begin Tuesday, February 17th and run through the final turn in day, Tuesday, March 3rd.  If you would rather make a donation to Prairie Ridge instead of purchasing a magazine, students will still receive drawing tickets and prizes.

Second Semester 6-Week Reports Online for Grades 6-12
Secondary schools' six-week midterm grade reports are now available in Infinite Campus.  Midterm reports are not sent via mail, and no paper reports are sent until the end of the semester.  Parents and guardians may view midterm grades via Infinite Campus.  If you do not have an account in Infinite Campus, please e-mail portal@ankenyschools.org to start the process.
Please contact your student's respective teacher if you have questions regarding the midterm grade.
Ankeny Schools 2015-2016 calendar on hold:
Approval and publication of the Ankeny Schools 2015-2016 school calendar is currently on hold. Last month we received guidance from the Iowa Department of Education (IDOE) regarding new rules for school start dates. The district is currently reviewing the criteria to make a determination on next year’s calendar.

In December, the IDOE has informed school districts that they will not automatically grant waivers to start the school year early, as in the past.  This clearly has great implications for Ankeny Schools due to the high percentage of students who earn post-secondary dual credits through Advanced Placement (AP) courses.  We apologize for any inconvenience this delay in publication may cause.

Take appropriate steps to help keep Ankeny students and schools healthy -
You may have noticed a number of news reports lately about the flu.  Flu season is definitely upon us, and our nurses want to remind everyone of procedures that can help minimize the spread of flu.
On behalf of all Ankeny Schools students and staff, thank you for taking time to follow these guidelines and help to keep our schools healthy.

Mandy Snyder
Lead District Nurse
